What is coaching?

Work with one of our coaches to bring yourself to the next level of self-mastery.

Coaching is bringing forth human potential.

A coach typically works with a client to help them build awareness around self and circumstances, gain clarity around their goals, feel empowered to change and grow. Through coaching, a person is challenged to explore different perspectives, and can discover and achieve their true potential.

No matter your career or life stage, a coach can support you in becoming who you want to be.

When can coaching help?

In times of change.

Coaching provides a safe space to explore and strengthen your change strategies as well as navigate the emotional aspects that change brings. This change may be internally driven like in the case of seeking change in behavior, or externally driven such as when you're face with a new role, new generation of workers, or other new challenges.

It ain't broken, but it ain't great.

Coaches can help executives "develop new ways to attack old problems," says Vicky Gordon, CEO of the Gordon Group coaching practice in Chicago. Coaching can help take an individual's, a team's or an organization's performance from good to great.

I have a dream.

A vision, a goal, a direction, a purpose, an aspiration. It may be vague now, but a coach can guide you on that journey of introspection and help you gain clarity on what success might look like and mean to you at various levels, be it personal or professional. Coaching can help you start taking steps to make that a reality.

Types of coaching

Executive Coaching

This could include honing decision-making skills, experimenting with new ways of thinking and being, having a sounding board for scenarios/strategies, or even managing work-life balance. Executive coaches are typically external to the organization to provide the individuals a safe, unbiased, and private space to engage in the coaching process.

Career Coaching

Provides support for individuals seeking to make a short or long term career transitions. This could be it terms of a vertical step such as a promotion within or out their current organization, or a horizontal step across disciplines. Career coaching could apply to guidance on professional development, job searching, and even more tangible areas such as resume writing and preparation for interviews.

Performance Coaching

Aims to help individuals at all levels or careers stages achieve peak performance with regards to their jobs and roles. This starts by helping individuals better understand the requirements of their jobs, the competencies and personal growth needed to better fulfill and maybe even surpass these requirements. Performance coaching helps individuals plan strategically to tackle any blind spots, gaps, and opportunities for maximizing potential.

Additionally, individuals learn new leadership skills, and how to flex them to lead from positions of influence or authority.
